Design thinking can transform the way organisations develop products, services, processes and strategy. Many companies now deploy design thinking methodologies to help them overcome key business challenges ever present in today’s fast-paced technology and data driven environment.

Design thinking can be used as an innovative approach:

  • for problem solving and management strategy;
  • to create customer-centric products and services;
  • to anticipate and respond to new trends and technologies;
  • to design experiences and interactions;
  • to develop systemised solutions.

  • Origins of design thinking Writing a design brief
  • Competitor analysis
  • Creative leadership, vision and values
  • Brainstorming and ideation
  • Audience/customer profiling
  • Customer journeys & empathy experiments
  • Synthesis and insights
  • Visualisation methodologies
  • Storytelling
  • Prototyping & iteration
  • Design metrics, evaluation, validation and testing.

Participant profile/Who can apply/Eligibility

This course is suitable for professionals and graduates who have an Undergraduate qualification of 2nd Class Honours or higher at Honours Degree level. Applicants without a Level 8 qualification may be considered based on their prior experience and learning through our RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) process.

CULTURAL & CREATIVE INDUSTRIES SKILLNET APPLICANTS MUST BE RESIDENT IN THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND TO QUALIFY FOR CCI SKILLNET MEMBERSHIP SUPPORT & NOT IN RECEIPT OF a) a bursary b) a scholarship or c) grant aid

Cultural & Creative Industries Skillnet is required to collect Special Category Data from those who wish to avail of supports for this programme. If you are successful in your course application to CFA/IADT, you will be asked to fill out a special category data questionnaire which will be present on the registration/payment page. Further data will be collected at the following milestones.

Costs/fee

The fee for this 5 x Day Blended Learning Course is €600 per person (normally €1,100).

Payment will be due in full before the course commences

  2. If your CCIS Membership application is successful, you will be notified and given access to the IADT Course application link.
  3. Fill out the IADT Course Application
  4. If your Course Application is successful you will be notified and given access to a CCIS Registration/Payment Link
  5. You will be asked to complete a Special Category Data questionnaire before proceeding to CCIS registration/Payment
